Authorities arrested Brazilian miner Robistaine Peixoto Saraiva, who revealed that the mercury was intended for gold mining operations in Brazil. The operation involved an Islander aircraft and a pickup truck, both attempting to flee the scene. While one suspect escaped into Brazil, police apprehended Saraiva and seized several electronic devices, navigational tools, and a motorcycle near the airstrip. The Saint Lucia Kings Stun Warriors to Win Maiden CPL Title

The St. Lucia Kings claimed their first Caribbean Premier League (CPL) title in a thrilling final against the Guyana Amazon Warriors. Five Suspects to Remain in Custody for Another 72 Hours

Five men accused of abducting Joshua David will remain in custody for an additional 72 hours as police continue their investigation. The suspects, who surrendered to police last Friday, are being held as law enforcement seeks more information on David’s whereabouts. Two other suspects, Alpha Poole and Osafo Peters, were already charged and remanded to prison. David, also known as "Bricks," was abducted on September 26 outside a restaurant in Georgetown.

  

New Agriculture Information System to Transform Local Agricultural Sector

The Ministry of Agriculture launched the Agriculture Information System (AIS), a technological initiative aimed at improving the efficiency and data management of Guyana’s agricultural sector. The system will create a comprehensive database of farmers, provide georeferencing of farms, and streamline farm surveys. Minister Zulfikar Mustapha emphasized that AIS will revolutionize how the ministry collects and manages agricultural data. The system was funded by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and developed by Intellect Storm. It is expected to drive productivity and boost internal processes at the ministry.
